Marathon 4 Mental Health runs from World Mental Health Day on 13th October until 31st October 2025, giving crew a window of time to complete the distance of a marathon - compatible with end of season transitions / yard periods / crossings.

We encourage people who work in shoreside roles that are connected to the industry to participate to show how and why they care for seafarers that might be able to use their services - whether that’s as a flag state, management, recruitment or insurance company.
When you enter Marathon 4 Mental Health you commit to fundraising a minimum amount for the International Seafarer Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN).
ISWAN supports seafarers and their families around the world with their free helpline services, educational resources, relief funds and humanitarian support.
They work to drive change within the maritime sector for better health and wellbeing amongst seafarers and use data from their helplines to inform new projects and research.
The money raised from Marathon 4 Mental Health directly support ISWAN's yachting specific projects, one of which is a free, 24/7, multilingual helpline that offers emotional, wellbeing and practical support to yacht crew and their families 365 days a year.
